How Can I Remove My Old Spray Tan?

A rundown of the quickest and easiest ways to remove an old spray tan.

After about 7-10 days your tan will eventually start to fade- As sad as this, unfortunately, no good thing lasts forever! The tan will begin to fade slowly, and that means you can get away with rocking the tan for a wee while longer… But, when the time finally does come, there are some good tips and tricks to make it easy!

The easiest most efficient way to remove your old tan will be to invest in a tan remover product so let’s dive in!

Tan Remover Foam…

Our number one best seller is our Black Magic Tan Remover Foaming Mousse. It contains the perfect ingredients to leave your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated, like Green Tea extract, Jojoba, Argan Oil, Aloe Vera and Witch Hazel. All these ingredients ensure that your skin is left soft and smooth, perfect for its next spray tan application! To use, you simply shake and apply the mousse to dry skin, wait five minutes, exfoliate with a mitt or glove and then jump in the shower and rinse. Voila!

Tan Remover Scrub…

Our GloDry Flake Away Fake Tan Remover Scrub is perfect or using in the shower.  To use simply soften your skin in the shower or bath, and apply in a circular motion (remembering to rub more in areas where there is more tan.) Rinse the product off and you are left with renewed and hydrated skin. The Flake Away Scrub ensures that your skin is the perfect canvas for your next tan to ensure your next tan will not be patchy due to old tan build up and dry skin.

Bath Bomb…

This is such a treat - the Glow Bath Bomb! All this product requires is you to run your lovely warm bath, jump in, then drop the GlowBomb into the bath and sit back and relax! The GlowBomb is made from Avocado Oils and pink clay, which means the bath will become your own personal pink oasis for the next 10-15 minutes! Another benefit is that the Bomb contains natural minerals that help relax the muscles of the body. This whole experience is all about self care so once the bath bomb has completely dissolved you are left with a beautiful rose quartz crystal for all the good loving vibes too. Amazing!

Exfoliator Gloves and Mitts…

Another tan removing and exfoliant are gloves and mitts. Use these alongside any of the above to ensure your skin is being lovely and moisturised at the same time.  We stock a couple of awesome options from both GlowDry and Black Magic Tan and exfoliating gloves from the supermarket or chemist will also do the trick. The main thing is to exfoliate before a tan so that your spray tan is going on to fresh, lovely skin that will take longer to shed.

Accidental Removers…

One thing to keep in mind whilst you have your tan, or when you are wanting to remove your leftover tan, is the daily routines we undertake that may actually remove a layer of our tan without us realising! For example, shaving will speed up the time that a tan comes off. Also soaking in water for long periods of time acts to remove a layer of the tan. Swimming in chlorine is another great way to remove and fade your tan fast. Finally, sweating while wearing tight and thick clothing (like a full on sports bra) is another way to remove some more of your tan in the areas that are rubbing! It is important to remember that anything that will exfoliate or rub on your skin will remove your tan, so keep this in mind when trying to extend the life of you tan as long as possible.

Happy tanning and we can’t wait to see you in the salon soon!
